I’m Ania, a wedding photographer in Chichester. I photograph weddings across West Sussex and Hampshire — from a short register office ceremony to a full day at a country house — and I have been doing it since 2007.

I work quietly. I organise the group photos and give you a little direction for your couple portraits. The rest of the day, I stay out of the way and photograph what actually happens. A full wedding day is £1,500, and short coverage starts at £395.

How I photograph a wedding

Most couples tell me they don’t like being photographed. That’s fine. You don’t need to be good at it. For most of the day I am simply watching: the speeches, your grandmother on the dance floor, the deep breath before you walk in.

When direction helps, I give it. For your couple portraits I take you somewhere with good light for fifteen or twenty minutes, tell you where to stand and give you something to talk about. It never feels like a fashion shoot, and you are back with your guests before anyone misses you.

Group photos are the one part that needs organising. Send me a list beforehand — I recommend no more than ten groups — and I work through them quickly, so nobody is kept waiting.

Small weddings and register office ceremonies

Not every wedding is a full day, and not every wedding needs full-day coverage. For register office ceremonies and small weddings I offer short coverage, starting about fifteen minutes before your ceremony.

One hour covers the ceremony, the confetti and a few family groups. Two hours adds relaxed couple portraits and time with your guests afterwards. Two hours is the option I recommend, and it is what I chose for my own wedding.

Full wedding day coverage

A full day runs from bridal preparations to your first dance, plus about half an hour of dancing afterwards.

It includes an engagement photoshoot before the wedding. We spend an hour somewhere you love, so you know how I work and feel comfortable with me long before the day itself. We also have an online consultation to go through your timings, your venue and your group list.

• Short coverage, 1 hour — £395: ceremony, confetti and family groups
• Short coverage, 2 hours — £650: adds couple portraits and time with your guests. Recommended.
• Additional hours — £250 per hour
• Full day — £1,500: bridal preparations to first dance plus half an hour of dancing, an engagement photoshoot and an online consultation

Every wedding includes a private online gallery and a full licence to print and share your photos. Albums and wall art are optional — see my wall art and albums.

A £300 non-refundable retainer secures a full-day date, and it comes off your total. Your price is fixed at the rate you booked, even if my prices go up before your wedding. The balance is due one month before the day.

Questions couples ask

How much does a wedding photographer in Chichester cost?

A full wedding day is £1,500, including an engagement photoshoot. Short coverage is £395 for one hour or £650 for two, with additional hours at £250.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book 12 to 24 months ahead, especially for spring and summer Saturdays. If your wedding is sooner, get in touch anyway.

Do you photograph small weddings and register office ceremonies?

Yes. I photograph ceremonies at Chichester Register Office, Arundel Town Hall and other register offices across West Sussex and Hampshire, with short coverage from one hour.

Does short coverage include getting ready?

No. Short coverage starts about fifteen minutes before your ceremony. If you would like bridal preparations photographed, choose the full day.

Is an engagement photoshoot included?

Yes, with every full wedding day. It is the best way to get used to the camera before the wedding.

We feel awkward in front of the camera. Can you help?

Yes. Most of my couples say this. For most of the day you won’t notice me, and when we do portraits I tell you exactly what to do.

How many group photos should we have?

When will we receive our photos?

Your full gallery is delivered within a few weeks of the wedding, in a private online gallery you can share with family and friends.
