Newborn Photographer in Chichester — Photoshoots at Your Home
I’m Ania, a newborn photographer in Chichester, and I come to you. Your baby stays in their own cot, their own room, their own light. Nobody has to dress a five-day-old, load the car, or work out parking with a newborn asleep in the back.
I bring professional lighting with me, so the photos look the way studio photos look — they just happen in your living room instead.
What happens on the day
I arrive, and nothing starts until the baby is settled. Most of the photoshoot happens in your living room or on your bed. If your baby needs feeding four times, they get fed four times. That is the whole reason this works at home.
Allow an hour to an hour and a half. Some babies are done in forty minutes. Some take longer, and that is fine — I don’t book anything after you.
Older brothers and sisters are welcome, and I photograph them early while they still find the whole thing interesting.
Why I photograph newborns at home
I photographed newborns in a studio for years. Home is better, and I would say so even if it were harder work.
You are not going anywhere five days after giving birth. You are in pyjamas, you are feeding on demand, and you may have had two hours’ sleep. Loading a newborn into a car to meet a photographer’s schedule is the last thing anyone needs that week.
The photos are also better. Your baby is calmer somewhere familiar, and the room they will actually grow up in is worth more in twenty years than a grey backdrop.
The usual objection is that the house isn’t tidy enough. It doesn’t need to be. We use one room, and I move things out of frame.
When to book
Get in touch while you are still pregnant. I hold a loose window around your due date rather than a fixed appointment, because babies arrive when they arrive.
The photoshoot itself works best in the first two weeks, while newborns still curl up and sleep deeply. After that they wake more and stretch out — still lovely, just a different sort of photo.
If your baby is already here and older than that, ask anyway. I would rather photograph a four-week-old than not photograph them at all.
Ania is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met – she made us feel so at ease in our home as we’re not naturally photogenic people, but she was so great with the kids, and captured some amazing family photos which we will treasure forever, and the photos of our newborn are just heart meltingly good!

What it costs
£350, all-inclusive. A £100 retainer books the date and comes off the total.
There is no package to choose, no viewing appointment, and nothing extra presented to you afterwards. You get your edited photos, and that is the price you were told at the start.
Where I travel
Chichester, the Witterings, Bosham, Arundel, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Selsey, Emsworth and the villages around them. I also cover Hampshire, including Havant, Portsmouth, Fareham and Petersfield.
If you are further out, ask — newborn photoshoots are worth a drive.
Questions parents ask
Do you have a studio?
No. Every newborn photoshoot happens at your home. I bring professional lighting, so you get studio-quality photos without leaving the house.
How much is a newborn photoshoot?
£350, all-inclusive, with a £100 retainer to book. There are no packages and nothing else to buy afterwards.
How long does it take?
Between one hour and an hour and a half, depending on your baby. I don’t book another job after yours, so there is no rush.
When should my baby be photographed?
Ideally within the first two weeks. Book while you are pregnant and I’ll hold a window around your due date.
What if my baby won’t settle?
We stop and wait. Feeding, changing and cuddling are part of the time, not an interruption to it.
Do I need to tidy the house?
No. We use one room, usually a bedroom or living room, and I move anything I don’t want in the frame.
Can older brothers and sisters be in the photos?
Yes, and it’s free. I photograph them in the first twenty minutes, while they’re still interested.

A little about me
I’ve been photographing since 2007, but newborns became the work I care most about in 2013, when my son was born. Something shifted that year. I understood what those first weeks actually feel like — the tiredness, the disbelief, how quickly a face you thought you’d memorised changes into a different one.
For years I did this in a studio. Now I come to you instead, and I wouldn’t go back. Everything is calmer in your own house.
I keep photoshoots simple and led by the baby. If they want to feed, we feed. If they want an hour to settle, they get an hour.
The photographs are simple too. No elaborate setups — just your baby, and the people who have been waiting to meet them. That’s what you’ll still want on the wall in twenty years.
